Every Sunday, we’ll be videosplaining a well-known school of thought so you can sound smarter when down at the pub. First up, Existentialism.
Existentialism. Beyond cigarettes and the eponymous crisis, what else does it go with? How do we implement it in our lives? Should we? There are a vast number of theories, espoused by the (frequently inaccessible) minds of dead geniuses.
Gleaning a definition from the Internet, Existentialism is “…a catch-all term for those philosophers who consider the nature of the human condition as a key philosophical problem and who share the view that this problem is best addressed through ontology.”
Right, so moving beyond Wikipedia, aided and abetted by Youtubers The School of Life, we’ve wrangled the “Big Three” of Existentialism, generally (dis)agreed upon as Sartre, Nietzsche and Kierkegaard to outline the theories that made them, them (and us). Sans the waffling.
