Something slightly different this week, as we’re affording a look into the relationship of Charles and Allie Trippy. Through good times and bad. A life shared on Youtube.
Hi guys! Your YouTube vlogs are fabulous! If for whatever reason you could only save three, which three would you save?
Since I’ve been filming every day for nine years (without missing a day) that’s almost over 3,000 videos so there are many, many videos that I love but some of the favourites that come to mind would be these three:
I had brain surgery two times and on the second time I was allowed to film the whole thing (and I was awake the whole time). Since it was such a weird time in my life it really helped me cope with it…
This was the day I asked my wife to marry me, naturally it will always hold a very special place in my heart.
This is the day we were married, of course we filmed it!
Can you please tell our readers a little bit about yourselves and how your YouTube channel came to be?
Our channel follows myself and my wife through our lives as we live them. It may sound boring or weird but I also play in the band We The Kings (who has achieved platinum selling status), so with that we end up touring the world. Since we film daily, we bring the camera (and as a result, millions of people) “with us”. On top of that we hold the Guinness World Record and are in the Ripley’s Believe it or not books because we haven’t missed a day!
YouTube moments: What do you think is the main driver to people viewing your videos daily and subscribing to your channel?
I think connecting with us on a basic level is important. We are “normal” people…the only thing that’s different is we put our daily life online. I think people like to see this, and to have the ability to connect to someone is something people like too!
YouTube stories: What inspires you most to keep letting us CTFxC fans be a fly on the wall into your daily lives?
As much as we may be an excuse for people to “escape” and watch, for us it’s a way to connect with them and make a community that inspires us and each other! It’s been one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever made, but it’s been amazing to see how many friendships (and even marriages) have come from viewers talking among the comments on the videos.
What do you think makes your vlogs stand out from the rest?
I think the fact we do it daily; not missing a day makes it more unique than others. Also, touring and going to the most insane places in the world playing with our viewer’s favourite bands also makes things even more unique…to my knowledge I’m not aware of another vlogger channel that has this opportunity!
YouTube future: What is in store for Mr and Mrs Trippy down the track?
Now we are married the next step that we are planning on is starting our own family and moving into the next chapter of our lives!
