We gouda: Swiss study believes hip-hop infused cheese is dope

According to researchers at one Swiss university, leaving cheese alone in a room with hip-hop noticeably increases the flava. Yeeeahhh boooyyeee.

 

 

Rap music/clock impresario Flava Flav may have a new rock to pop on his gaudy resume, as one University believes that exposing cheese to hip hop will make it taste better. In Switzerland, a group of researchers place nine wheels of Emmental cheese in a room with a boom box, exposing the aforementioned dairy to either A Tribe Called Quest’s “We Got it From Here”, Mozart’s ‘Magic Flute’ opera or Led Zeppelin’s “Stairway to Heaven”.

Obviously, the cheese manipulated by Phife had the most flavour, because duh. “The most obvious differences were observed in the strength of flavour, smell and taste,” Bern University of Arts researchers said in reporting the findings of a group of tests blind tasting.

“The hip hop sample topped the list of all cheese exposed to music in terms of fruitiness…(it) was the strongest of these in terms of smell and taste.”

Benjamin Luzuy, a member of the blind jury, told Reuters: “The differences were very clear, in term of texture, taste, the appearance, there was really something very different.”

Disappointingly, the chance for a lactose/Tribe crossover seems rather slim, as the legendary Phife Dawg passed away back in 2016. Which is a bit of a blow, as an exclusive album and an accompanying cheese would surely be a best seller. I’d buy it. Besides, the songs would write themselves. Can I dip it?
